Easter Blessings

Stangl Golden Harvest

Happy Easter, Peeps!

Am I the only one to make that joke today?

To celebrate this special holiday, I’ve unlocked the Stangl vault and set the table with the most Easter-ish pattern I have. This is the 1953-54 Golden Harvest. I suppose the focus is meant to be on those wheat stalks but are those not Easter Lilies on there as well? If not exactly, then close enough. There’s a hidden lily in that photo as well – do you see it?

UPDATE: In case you missed it in the comments, reader and frequent commenter Jewel left this joyful news:

I officially became a Catholic and received my first communion last night at the Easter Vigil! Still floating on chrism and incense!”

Many congratulations to you, Jewel.

  1. I’m not a big place serving type of person. With me, paper plates and plastic utensils are fine….but that’s a beautiful setting. In redneck terms: “That’s kickass.” and I’m really, really impressed.

  2. Happy Easter to you! I officially became a Catholic and received my first communion last night at the Easter Vigil! Still floating on chrism and incense!

    1. Oh, Jewel, I am so happy for you. I remember my adult initiation as well, and the beauty remains. Congratulations.

      1. Thank you Joan! Weeks of weeping swept away with the Easter Vigil. It was truly amazing. Family was surprised when I crossed myself and said a Catholic blessing over dinner..which isn’t fish! YAY

  3. Christos voskres! Voistynu voskres!

(Christ is risen! Indeed he is risen!)

    Beautiful place setting.

    Happy Easter to all.
