Kicking Around

OH, please let this be true:

coming soon to a high definition TV near you

Chelsea Clinton to Report for NBC

The appointment is immediate. Ms. Clinton will show up at the news division offices on Monday morning, said Steve Capus, president of NBC News, and will begin work on stories that NBC expects to use as part of its “Making a Difference” series, which runs on “NBC Nightly News … Mr. Capus said an intermediary contacted him in July with word that “she was kicking around what she wanted to do next.”

Now correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t our little Chelsea, after she took a run at some kind of Wall Street greed job,  get a grad degree in Public Health Administration? Perhaps being involved in America’s healthcare doesn’t seem as rewarding a prospect as it was, oh say – 2 years ago?

She’s probably going to be a big hit at this. I do think with her background and experience that she could provide illumination on many issues that Americans would be interested in. I’d like to suggest for a start:

  • cosmetic surgery
  • keeping Dad away when your girlfriends come over
  • gluten-free power breakfasts with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton
  • what to avoid when choosing your wedding gown
  • hosting a Come To Jesus meeting when your husband announces his intention of being a ski bum
  • make-up tips and tricks
  • avoiding awkward conversation about federal crimes at the family dinner table
I do feel a bit of a pang on behalf of Hillary, who went on the record to say that she was so looking forward to becoming a grandmother. But hey- by all accounts, C.C. is a remarkable individual so maybe she’ll be able to swing the working mother thing.

  1. I thought these women were fully liberated “bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan” feminists. Of course Chelsea can be a “working” mom, after all, she grew up with a whole village taking charge of her every want and need, and no doubt she has a village on call for any small details a baby might impose on her busy life. Hill seems to be a hypocrite here. Having a baby never slowed her down.

  2. The original Capus quote was that she’d been “kicking the wheels” (as in “kicking the tires”, aka shopping around).

At least she’s not bathless and displaying her cluelessness by parading around with the OWSers. Good to have friends and relatives in high places.

  3. I guess if you are a big democrat – it is OK to open your giant mouth in public and bray like a donkey.

I have a feeling that I’ll last 15 seconds before slamming my fist down on the remote.
