Too Soon?

I’ve been completely consumed with the #Megxit and #Harryvederci drama going on for the last week or so. In fact, I’ve been on the fringes of a little Twitter gang of anti-Meghaneers for quite a while. It’s all fun and games for the most part, but every now and then the British-American cultural divide puts the skids on the fun.

Today for instance, in the wake of the enormous disappointment that the queen didn’t immediately shove them both outside the palace gates to fend for themselves 100%, I took a mild part in the flurry sadness and of woeful predictions. I posted this and some people took it seriously.

For reference: That Aquamarine Ring Harry Gave Meghan
So IDK. Either I’m better than I thought myself to be or worse than I thought myself to be.

Also, if you haven’t seen this, you should.

  1. Oh, that’s wonderful! Bet it created quite the little tempest!

I’ve been waiting for Megxit from day one. Tried giving her the benefit of the doubt, but all bets were off after she announced her “pregnancy” at Princess Eugenie’s wedding. Bloody cheek!
Hope they’re stripped of their titles (yes, and the Sussex Megs wants to make money from) and lands. Heave ho!

  2. OK, so I’m late to the party and brought an odd, marginally related gift. (Not for the last time.)

Harry’s plight calls to mind another imaginary Harry – Harry Feducci, who was mentioned in an episode of “The Honeymooners”. Seems Ralph, Alice, Ed and Trixie all went to Italy. And Ralph, overhearing Alice saying Harry’s name at the end of a phone call, promptly leapt to the conclusion that he was wooing Alice. In the climactic row, Alice acidly tells Lord King of the Over-reactors that it’s “arrivederci”.

Seems that’s precisely what the Palace told ’em.
