On New Year’s Day, we drove through charming friendly snow flurries for a festive dinner involving crown pork roast and cranberry cake.
The suddenly cold weather – or maybe it was the generous hospitality of my pork cooking cake baking friend – has inspired me to fill my kitchen with luscious foods today: pickled eggs and cabbage soup. My Egyptian husband is of the opinion that neither boiling vinegar nor simmering cabbage fits the strict definition of luscious but if any random Lithuanian should happen to drop in, they would strongly disagree.
Somehow there was an incident with a slice of lunch meat that went up into my nasal sinus cavity instead of down into my gullet but that resolved itself without conscious effort from me. All is well!
So all in all 2016 is shaping up to be a good year.
