Cry For Help

You know, I’ve been working from home ever since influenza vaccination season started in August. I never used to like it but I’ve become accustomed to it. I just caught a glimpse of myself in a glass door while I was making a cup of tea. This is what I’m wearing: a navy blue cotton dress with white stars on it, over that I have a lime green long sleeved t-shirt. My legs are bare and I have on pink fuzzy slippers.

I have got to get back into the world.

  1. I’ll bet a shiny nickel that Joe Biden would wear that exact outfit if he were left to dress himself. The difference would be that to “get back into the world” would require taking meds having side effects including tardive dyskinesia.

  2. Sounds suspiciously like the outfit a Sesame Street character would wear…

Re: immunizations, our first 2012 flu clinic was Wednesday and I helped with over 260 flu shots. We have 3 more scheduled.

  3. I got my Shingles shot ! Dang, two friends of ours have come down with shingles this past year and one is now legally blind in one eye with optic nerve damage. Scary stuff. I may even get a flu vac this year too.

  4. I have a mumu! It’s pink. Some people go shopping in a mumu….In Hawaii, and WalMart. I’d like to start the tradition in rural Wyoming, but lack the proper I-don’t-give-a-shit attitude.

  5. I had a similar epiphany not long ago and toyed with the idea of getting back into the fray…then I dropped by a friend’s office to pick her up for lunch. Wall-to-wall assholes.

    No way, no how.

I’ll stick with my cozy home office with a cat asleep on the printer and my polka dot yoga pants.

  6. Yaayysh! Been OOW with a foot/ankle injury for 6 weeks. So, with the substitution of sweat pants for the charming frock, a 2-5 day old beard growth, and a Rx knee high Klingon military boot, I’ve adopted the same fancy look. Cheers!
