  1. And I have to travel on business so it al works out.

This is the first time in a couple of years I’ve had to travel on bidness, but I have you to guide me as to what to do while away.

Question: when you go to a conference and some one says, “Let’s start a wiki about that!” do you hit them right away or wait and for an opportunity to ambush?

    • You are certainly up to – ahem – speed on the dos and don’t of hotel coffeemakers. Our hotel in Montreal avoided the issue by having an espresso maker in the room. Kimpton Hotels eliminate the appliance altogether and have a complimentary coffee service in the lobby, but that requires leaving the room (although it is good coffee made at a hot enough temp to have taste).

You may also benefit from the weltanshauung of USA Today, a paper that is read nowhere else but hotel lobbies, as far as I can tell.

As for unsolicited attempts to recruit you for projects, do what I do: cultivate a withering sneer. I have been practicing and my lip curl is almost Elvis-like in magnitude.

  2. Wow! And I thought my mother was the national distributor of guilt. Maybe she just has the Intermountain West. He book is titled “I’ve Been So Sick I Could Die, Where Were You?”
