Sometimes I Wish My Middle Name Was Bird

This morning, I ran across a photo of the teenaged Luci Baines Johnson in the dress she wore to JFK’s  Inaugural Ball in 1961. Simple, flattering and tasteful.

  1. What a concept….”Simple, flattering AND tasteful.” Three things we haven’t seen since January 2009. Rather it has consistently been, “Contrived, unflattering and remarkably distasteful.”

  2. What a great picture. Lynda has quite a sense of humor from the look of things. She looks like her dad, poor thing. I remember gloves and strands of pearls. I couldn’t wait to grow up and wear gowns like that. Sadly, by the time I did those days were gone.
